Who is Fund 2 for?

An investment in Purpose Capital Impact Fund 2 is for wholesale Investors who want to make a material difference to their country and the planet, while enjoying a market based, risk adjusted return on their investment.

To date, through Purpose Capital Impact Fund 1, we are on track to meet our financial return target and have contributed to the following*:

  • 800+ GWh p.a. of Utility scale solar energy capacity created
  • 12,500 tonnes of refrigeration related CO2e emissions avoided
  • The creation of over 200 new jobs
  • Seven vulnerable youth supportively housed and new institutional funding introduced to the social housing sector
  • Funding the first stage of an 89-home housing
    development targeting at least a Homestar 6 rating
  • Supported Māori shareholding and community ownership of a large energy business at the forefront of wind and renewable energy generation
  • Helped to mainstream impact investment in New Zealand

Renewable Energy:

  • Solar – both distributed and utility scale

Energy Transition:

  • Energy efficiency projects such as waste heat recovery, LED lighting, smart controls and building retrofits
  • Replacing commercial, industrial & public sector fossil fuel heating systems, with clean low carbon technologies such as electric boilers and high temperature hot water heat pumps
  • Refrigeration systems that use less energy or use low global warming potential refrigerants
  • Electrical infrastructure projects including demand/ response (load shifting)
  • Transport, particularly fleet electrification opportunities and charging infrastructure

Asset Classes

Real Assets: Renewable generation, efficiency & clean-tech energy assets. Contract receivables, asset backed investments. Asset or project finance.

Impact Businesses: Growth stage or private equity staged companies, driving positive social and environmental outcomes.

Using fit for purpose financing

Equity: Preferred and ordinary equity.

Debt: Convertible notes, senior and junior loans.

Investment: $1M to $10M+, through stand alone or syndicated investment.
